Mellow Man Ace video shoot / Chronic Candy Photo Shoot

Los Angeles, California

Today I went to do a cameo for Mellow Man Ace, his new video. I shot the DJ scene with flames coming out from behind me. The flames were so fucking hot, they burnt my back nasty. He's the homie so you have to go out and cop the album fo sho. Tabitha Stevens the porn star was there takin off her top and gettin hosed down for the video. CrAzY. My homie had his bike up there too, hes reppin Ruffryders. Then I got a call from the Chronic Candy staff (p-funk, the beat) to do a photoshoot. Hey, a little extra cash wont hurt. A couple of the girls in the shoot I already knew so that made it fun. Since I already had my turntables with me from the Mellow Man video shoot I used them in the Chronic Candy photoshoot. We got our hair and make up done, it was all good.

Today we had a meeting and there was a treat. The Young Gunz came through and represented. My girls came down with me to chiil too. That was cool. There were like 30 DJ's there from my record pool, west coast record pool. We had the meeting at Shakey's in L.A. We had mad pizza, chicken and beer. Then me and my girls headed to Baja Sundays and saw DJ Rectangle spin.

Access Unlimited Magazine Signing

Century Club

Los Angeles, California

Today I went to sign magazines with some of the other Access Unlimited Magazine Cover models at the Century Club. Then I had to race all the way to Ibiza in Whittier. If you're from L.A. you know thats a pretty far drive. Thnak God my car bones out. The group Playin Skills performed and they were tight. I like their song "too many freaks" They are cool too. They used to be a DJ duo.

Baby Bash Music Video Shoot

Los Angeles, California

This was the funest video shoot yet. It was all taped at a park with a real barbecue. Water fight, kids, bikes and even a Ferrari. Alot of people were there from radio like Erick Cubiche, DJ Vice, Danny (Lil Puppet from American Me Movie), Frankie Needles, Tiffany Villareal, Jdubs. My girls got caught up in the waterfight. Even my homie Taz Rock was there peacing the video up. I only kicked it til the sun went down. Then I went home to get ready to spin at Q.C.'s. It was a cool day.

944 Magazine Party

Arizona

My flight left early. I met up with DJ Diamond, DJ Tatiana and Miss Lisa. 944 hooked us up with a limo to pck us up from the airport. Then we went to the hotel. It was a nice room, there was a big ass plasma screen tv on the wall of the room. Damn!! So I just chilled and watched some tv till 7:30 p.m. and then we took off to the party. All of us were with a DJ pack, our records and shit. I dj'd for an hour and a half during the fashion show. There were breakers and gogo dancers everywhere. There were about 6 sets of turntables in the spot. and there was good food.

Keith Sweat Concert / Q.C.'s

Los Angeles, California

I was chillin with my girls at my house and we took of to the concert at 7p.m. We got to park in the V.I.P. section. It was cool. We also got to go through gate 6 were all of the artist go through. Thanks to Ralph who put together the concert. This concert was sold out and packed. We got some drinks and said hi to everyone. We ran into magic johnson backstage. We headed to our seats in the sky box. It was so nice. There was a little surprise during Keith Sweats performance. Keith Sweat stopped during one of the songs and Joe Grande from L.A's Power 106 FM radio station went on stage and proposed to his girlfriend. I wanted to cry. I want a family one day. Well, we headed out early cause I had to spin at Q.C.'s. Tonight there was drama cause my homegirl rolled with me t the club, she caught her man there with another girl. She was had been with him for 3 years. Thats fucked up.

The Drop TV Show / Mr. Chocs B-day

I woke up early to go tape two shows for the drop. I have my own dressing room,. It was cool. Another 6 hours of standing. But I love it. I feel confortable cuz I have turntables with me. I went to make a 30 minute mix for the DJs and headed to the club shelter on Sunset Blvd. It was so packed and there was a huge crowd outside. Me and My girls just walked to the fromt door and walked right in. E-40, Warren-G, Mellow Man, Hi-C, Big Steele, DJ Koke, Mr. Choc and all kinds of record label people where there. I got my 30 minute mix to some important peeps so that was cool. There were some crazy hoes there macking at the end. I got a flcik. The Drop TV Show

Today we filmed 2 shows of The Drop. If you havent ordered SITV from your local cable service then do it! This show airs everyday and Im one of the DJ's. The Goodfellas are co-hosts. Today Latin Fros came down to the set and represented. They rocked it. I get tired of standing there for hours and smiling. Im kind of shy so...It was a 4 hour shoot. Its fun cuz everyone there is young and fun and they have bomb ass lunch. Mmmm. I bring my own turntables to the set so if you see the show you'll see my setup. I dont spin that much on the show just scratching here and there.

I missed my morning flight so I got to Jersey late. They had a limo waiting for me at the airport to pick me up and drop me off. I met up with my fellow members of The Murda Mamis. Just incase y'all dont know Im the west coast representative of the all female DJ hip hop crew. Some of the members are Lazy K (female mixtape DJ of the year), LaLa (MTV), First Lady anf girls from radio stations in Miami and Atlanta. They roll deep like me to all the clubs and they be puttin it down in the Eastcoast. So they went to meet up with me at my room. We packed up the limo and bounced out. We rolled up to the club and there was a long ass line. I got on at about midnight and stoped at 1. Lazy K was MCing for me on the mic. There were 11 of us Murda Mamis deep as hell.

Club Rain

My plane landed in Vegas at 6 pm. I headed over to the Palms Hotel. The club is located there and thats where I was spning. I went to eat dinner really quick and headed to my hotel room to get ready. I got ready and headed to the club. The club is huge. I came here when the magic show was in town but I never thought I would be spinning here a couple of weekens later. The resident DJ's are really cool. They know how to keep you movin. Hollywood is on the CD's and Rob is on the turntables. They are a hard act to follow. It was crazy because right before I played light your ass on fire by Busta Rhymes something came down from the roof and started shooting out fire. What the hell? It was so hot. It was something I had never seen at a club before.I played for about an hour then called it a night. The next day I met up with some members of my crew TKO from the Vegas click. We got homies from all over the U.S. They be putting it down for us in Vegas.

Hot Import Nights

Wow. There had to be around 30,000 people at HIN L.A. It was packed. I made 3,000 posters for this event thanks to EAI Exentrix Motors. I had to DJ at the Pepsi stage at 5 p.m. til 6 p.m. then make my way to the main mazda stage from 6p.m. til 7 p.m. At the mazda stage the monitor blew out, thank god my girls came with me and passed out my posters for me. The guys were yelling and jumping up to grab the posters. I have never taken so many pictures in my life in one day. After my set I went to visit my homies at the Access Unlimited Magazine booth. I signed some magazines for fans and headed off to the DUB Mgazine booth and signed some posters. My homegirl (the beautiful) Dazza was there representing. We got a little interview of her for the DVD. The I had to go back to the Pepsi stage to spin from 11p.m. til midnight. M.C. Supernatural is really dope. He was the host M.C. We also did a little interview with him for the DVD. Also got an interview with Fernando Vargas. I ended up staying there until 12:45 a.m. because I hada line of fans that wanted a signed poster. At the end me and my girls rolled out satisfied with the way the day. We were leaving the parking lot at the convention center and we got surrounded by thousands of guys. I had to run a red light to get away. Fuck it. I cant wait for the next Hot Import Nights in San Mateo! Northern Cali, here I come!

OYE Magazine Party / Club Rio

Today I went to the release of OYE Mag. They had me DJ at the party for the fashion show. because I had an 8 page spread in their magazine right after CypressHill. Check out the pictures in the media section. I played right b-4 Tony B. of Groove Radio. It was cool. I was chillin with the Playmate of the year and the rest of the models. Some girl even tried to pick up on me in the restroom, she was hot but a little too agressive. It was packed. Even Paris Hilton rolled by. Shes Bomb. Rich Ass. My homegirl Burgandy had a fashion show. Even Fox News was there covering the event. But I had to bounce out to the other club. I left at about midnight from Ivar to club rio. I had to DJ for my homie Grants b-day. Cypress Hill Hosted the whole event. My homie Grant had 6-7 girls with whip cream all over their bodies instead of a birthday cake. I forgot my camera cause I was in such a hurry. Sorry!

Mobb Deep Video Shoot

Today I woke up hella early. Cal time for this video shoot was at 8:00 A.M. in downtown l.a. Today Im supposed to be a feature in a Mobb Deep video. Im playing a DJ. Wow how hard. I got there and ate some bomb ass breakfast. My homegirl was there, Shawna. You'll reconize her from all the videos like Outkast "The way you move". We kicked it. There were also some import models there too. My agency suspect ent. It was dope until I got a can and tagged up the club scene set. I went over the directors tag. Hes an oldschool writer. Just my luck. For some odd reason hey forgot to setup the turntables for my scene. Oh well, their loss. I still got payed. Its all good.

Playboy Mansion

I woke up late again this morning. My plan was to stay home and work on my mixtape. Then my phone wrang and they invited me to go to the Playboy Mansion. SHIT!! IM THERE! I got to the meeting spot at UCLA arounf 8 P.M. Thats where the shuttle bus picks you up and takes you to the mansion. There were 500 people on the guest list and only 300 guests in. I saw some stars not stars not getting in cause they werent on the list. It was a red carpet event and there were these huge cameras everywhere. Alot of older men. Thank God some of my homies were there Me and my girl Roberta took some pictures in the infamous grato cave. Damn, big Hefner is pimpin with his own zoo in the back yard, pools and waterfalls everywhere. I even met the man himself! He is cool as fuck. They had some bomb ass food. One of my girls fell on her ass.After that we headed off to club shelter. Came home and knocked out.

I left on Sunday night in the rain and got to vegas at around 1 A.M. Got settled in my room at the Venetian and knocked the fuck out. Woke up late and rushed to the Magic Show. Right away I ran into my homie Estevan from Joker Clothing. I went over to the Playboy booth and took some pics. There was a basketball court for all ya'll whodont know what the magic show is, its the spot where all the clothing companies come together for one huge tradeshow. I always go to the sportswear section. Thats where all of the hip hop clothing os at. Each company represents their clothing line at the booths so their is all kinds of bboys, graff heads and djs everywhere. All the rappers come here to get all of the new gear first and free. All the music industry comes too. Its all about the money clothes and what??

NBA All Star Jam is here in L.A. Ballaz are takin over this town. From rap artist to NBA players to music industry reps from around the nation are here in L.A. Today I DJ'd at Nike Town. Lil Kim and J.D showed up. I DJ'd from 3:30 P.M. - 7:00P.M. It was so tight. I had a laker jersey on but they gave me a nike t-shirt to wear. While I was playing "aint no future while you're frontin" I went to get some scissors to cut up my nike shirt, went into the dressing room to put on the shirt and cut it and came back out back to the turntables to throw the next song in. After I was done playing, I went back home and changed and took of to The Source Magazine Party. Benzinos DJ was there DJing. Lil Flip was also there. I spun from 9-11 P.M. After that I went to a Rock-A-Fella party at forbien city. I had to head back to the source magazine party at 2 A.M. to finish up the night. Damn, this is the most chedda I made in one night.

"The Drop" show taping / La mirage

Today we shot 3 shows in one day! Remember people, this is TV so I might get cut out so dont expect me all up in the show when it airs. The special guests were Malcom Jamal Warner Baby Bash & Frankie J. Romeo and DJ (The Goodfellas) of Power 106 Los Angeles were also on the set. They are the ones that hooked me up with this gig. I have my own dressing room and I got a gift basket from the producers of the show. I also had hair and make-up people. The make up lady put some stuff on me and I broke out with a rash! I brought my turntables down to the set and used them while on the show. M yhome girls were all talking about "Hell yeah girl, we'll go down to the set and sit in the audience and pump it up", but when it came down to it, they all got camera shy. Ha Ha, its cool! After the taping of the show we headed out to La Mirage because it was already to late to go spin at Camachos. It was my little sister ALMA's birthday. We went to celebrate and had a god time. There were hoochies everywhere. Time to rest!

I arrived in L.A. at 11 A.M. Just intime to make it to "The Drop" meeting by noon. Damn I was so tired. The meeting was cool and I left at about 5 P.M. I got home and layed down almost fell asleep. My phone rang and I started talking talking to one of my homegirls. I chilled for a bit and then got up to start getting ready for Q.C.'s where suga free was performing. This is my fourth time being the main DJ where suga free is performing. I met up with my girls. I didnt drink cuz I would have fallen asleep cuz I was so tired. Well, the night was cool and now Im home getting ready to knock out. Goodnight.

Baby's Thursdays @ The Blue Tattoo

Damn! I have never flown so much in my life. Im not as nervous as before, I think Im getting use to flying. One thing did scare the shit out of me, you all know I have been locked up before so Im pretty traumatized when I see the cops. I flew back to L.A. from Seattle. I was walking in the Los angeles airport going to get my luggage when all of a sudden some black chick springs out of no where and says "POLICE" with a badge in her hand. She wasnt wearing a uniform so I didnt really know if she was for real. She was a UC (undercover cop). She pulled me aside and started asking me all of these questions, "where are you coming from? what where you doing there? who are you with? did anyone slip something into your luggage? have you ever been arrested?" Damn, I thought I had done something wrong, I thought "damn, not again". I always get sweated when I go to the airport. Why? Well, they let me go after I answered all of their questions ans showed them my I.D. I walked to my next flight to San Jose and waited for it to start bording. I flew to San Jose, got picked up by a driver and went to the hotel. The hotel was in Downtown San Jose at the Marriot. I had one hour to get ready so I was rushing. I got ready, my ride came to get me and I went to spin. The spot was nice. There were allot of hot chicks there dancing on the stage while I was spinning. It was cool, check out the flicks. Tomorrow is going to be another long day! From San Jose to L.A. then I have to go to a studio for a meeting to discuss this upcomng show called "The Drop".

Club Medusa

Seattle, Washington

Today I got no sleep tonight. I had a scheduled flight at 8 A.M. leavingfromLos Angeles, California to Seattle Washington. My flight made a stop in Las Vegas and then headed to Seattle. Im so scared of flying. I've seen "Final Destination" and "Alive", you know, those airplane crash movies. Im traumatized! Seattle Washington is COLD! I arrived at the airport and when I walked outside you could see the heat coming out of my mouth when I was breathing, looked like steam coming out, thats how cold it was. The driver picked me up and drove me to my hotel. The hotel was relly nice. I stayed at "The Edgewater". The hotel is located right at the port and my room was over looking it. It was so cold, thank God my room had a heater and a nice fireplace. I checked in at arounf 3 P.M. I called room service and watched some T.V. I started getting ready around 9 P.M. The promoter of club medusa "Jacob" took me to this nice spot to grab a little dinner. I ordered some shrimp and Oysters. Mmmmmm! After eating we went to this little club just to chek it out. Finally we got to Club Medusa. It's a really nice club. The DJ booth is high up on a balcony overlooking the crowd. DJ Chinky Eye was spinning right before I did. The club was dope and I had a really nice time. After the club was over and while everyone was walking out me and the resident DJ's were showing our skills on the turntables. It was fun. Back to the Hotel! Tomorrow another day of Flying.....GREAT :(

TRIBE UPDATE

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
I hope everybody got what they wanted for christmas. Well, I have to apologize for not keeping you updated on the diary. Allot has gone on but my camera has been fucking up on me allot lately. I've been keeping real busy. I now have 4 residencies. I was in Vegas for New Years. It was tight. Those pictures are in the picture section of the web site. I didnt DJ out there thats why they arent in the diary. On Saturday Jan. 24, 2004 was a pretty big event. There were performances by ASHANTI, JA RULE, XZIBIT, CHINGY, Lil JON, FATAL, BOOYATRIBE and more That shit was live! I opened up for Ashanti. I had my girls dancing on the stage while I was spinning. The show was real tight. My camera ran out of batteries. Im waiting for my homie to email me some flicks that he took, I will post them up as soon as I get them. After that we headed over to the after party at Ibiza. I DJ'd and had a good time.

Keep checking back. This week is going to be pretty busy to. Im flying out to Seattle Washington on Wednesday, then flying back to L.A. on thursday, then flying out to San Jose that same day! I-P-ONE CONCERT, L.A. Sports Arena, Ja Rule, Ashanti, Xzibit, Ludacris, Chingy...

Today I played at the I-P-ONE Concert inside the L.A. Sports Arena. It was the biggest crowd I have ever played in front of LIVE. Sound check was at 3 P.M. so I was there making sure everything was set and ready to go. Some of girls spent the night at my house so all of us could be ready to go when the time came. They all wore shirts that had my "TRIBE" tag across the chest. I was supposed to only spin 15 minutes in between acts but when Ashati was getting ready to come on and perform she was running late. I ended up spining for over an hour. I had 10 of my girls dance on the stage while I played. There were also 2 big screens on the side of the stage so the people in the back would be able to see whats going on at the stage. I prepared a DVD for the big screens, so while I was spinning they played my DVD. The DVD had my flash intro and allot of photos of my graffiti playing on the big screens. Everyone who was supposed to performe showed up and did their thang! JA RULE, ASHANTI, XZIBIT, LUDACRIS and there were surprise guests like LIL JON, PHARELL, CHINGY & BOOYAH TRIBE. It was tight. I had to leave a little early to go spin at Ibiza. Ibiza was packed. Ja Rule and Ashanti came by after the concert and kicked it.

Maverick Records Christmas Party, Club Bliss

Los Angeles, California

Tonight was the Maverick RecordsTonight I was in charge of all the music. Maverick records funded it. I rented out speakers, amps and took my DJ system at around 7P.M. set up shop. I was in charge of the line up so we had a little of house, hip-hop and soul. It was an industry party. I like DJing for different crowds so now I can put industry scene on my resume. Sharon Stone was at the party, Also Donna D'Errico (Baywatch), Slayer (Rockhard) and Hugh Hefner and his 8 playmates were at the party. We were not allowed to take pictures of them. But I was too busy taking care of shit anyways. I dj'd at 11P.M. and I had these industry people dancing everywhere. There was a runaway set up for a fashion show. It was for that purpose only, for the fashion show but as soon as I started spinning my set, everyone got up on the runway and started dancing! The fashion show was dope and they also had some bomb ass food. It was cool.

Suga Free Performance, Inland Empire

San Bernardino, California

Tonight Im the main DJ for Suga Free concert in the Inland Empire. I got there at about 11P.M. The place was big. They took me and my crew in through the back so I didnt show my I.D. Well, I almost got kicked out because I was holding a corona and I didnt have a wrist band on. The security surrounded me and told me to come with them. I told them no, so they called the head security. Thank God he recognized me from the flyer. He told them to back off. They apologized and I took off to the dj booth. Drama and the night just started. Well I started spinning and they had a booty contest. Damn, those girls know how to shake and party. Well after that Suga Free came on and started out with "I'd rather give you my bitch" It was tight. He rocked it. I was DJing the whole time. Then after the club there was a stabbing supposedly. I bounced before the cops came. After the concert I went straight to the officees of LIVE MAGAZINE and did a photoshoot infront of my homie TLOKS peaced. He had just busted a TKO. Then I got home late about 5 A.M. A long night. Tired, sleepy, goodnight.

KDAY Reunion, Ibiza

Today was the annual Radiotron, but I didnt go this year because I had to DJ at the KDAY Reunion at Ibiza. It was soooooo dope! Its ok because last night I went to the preparty of Radiotron where there was an intense panel discussion about graffiti and where it is going. Well, anyway, back to Ibiza. I got there and I heard there was a surprised guest. Actually there was a few surprised guests. The world famous beat junkies represented. Melo-D, Rhettmatic and JROCC. You can check them out at BeatJunkies.com There were turntables setup on stage. Julio G. and Battle Cat (producer for Snoop, Nate Dogg, etc.) busted on the 1's and 2's. After that Gregmac the one who started it all gave away some KDAY reunion bomber jackets. Then it was time for the special guest. Zapp & Roger, well of course Roger wasnt there but Im sure he was in spirit because the put on a hell of a show. That had to be one of the best performances I have ever seen. The crowd was hype. They played all the hits like Computer Love, Ditty and More Bounce to the Ounce. I was scheduled to DJ right after them. Thats a hard act to follow. So I played until the end of the night. It was fun.

Long Beach City College

My homie Enerjon called me up to rep as a judge for an M.C. battle. It was for KLBC radio station. It is broadcast world wide live over the internet. This battle was good. There were a number of M. C.'s but a few really caught my eye. There was Kalih (the champion), Dice (the runner up), Mysterious (Female M. C.'S), Calaso, E-nash and Chino. If I forgot anyone, dispensa. It was tuff battle. There was a point were there was allot of tension. These guys were giving it there all. The vibe was tight, no one slacked off. The M. C.'S' with the most heart will make it to the top. You gotta give it your all. You can tell when an M. C.'S is a little bit scared. Its true when they say "pretend there is nobody around, its just you and the mic". That's what these M. C.'S' did today and they made it to the semi finals. As a judge I looked for freestyle rhymes. I can tell when that shit is right off of the dome.Its like graffiti your not going to get respect if you don't bomb. You can be all commercialized and just do legal pieces but you get more street credit if you bomb. Same with rappers. You get more street credibility if you can freestyle dope. Well, I definitely enjoyed judging these M. C.'s. I will be featuring some of the finalists on my next mixed CD.
